The challenge was to develop a high-volume, turnkey grinding solution for producing felt tips for pens, meeting the customer’s requirements for precision and thruput in a fully automated process.
Process
Before working with Glebar, the customer manually ground felt tips, a slow, labor-intensive process with limited thruput. Glebar engineered a fully automated form-grinding solution that shapes intricate geometric profiles and radii directly from rod stock, processing 8 pieces per cycle in under 8 seconds, including auto-feeding, dramatically increasing output while eliminating manual operation.
