Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Cutter | GT-610 SD

Challenge

The challenge was to develop a fully automated grinding solution for carbide and polycrystalline diamond (PCD) that conserves grinding wheel life, minimizes power consumption, and operates within a compact machine footprint.

Process

Glebar’s GT-610-SD Infeed/Thrufeed Centerless Grinder meets these requirements through machine intelligence and data-driven control that predict and preempt operational parameters in real time. The fully automatic system costs a fraction as much and has a smaller footprint than competing models, requiring only minimal training for a standard operator to run it at full capability. Production efficiency is exceptional, and Glebar’s manufacturing capacity allows the GT-610-SD to be mass-produced and deployed rapidly across carbide and PCD manufacturing operations of any scale.

Solution: Glebar GT-610-SD Infeed/Thrufeed Centerless Grinder

The Glebar GT-610-SD Infeed/Thrufeed Centerless Grinder is an infeed/thrufeed centerless grinder built to grind supermaterials such as polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and other hard, difficult-to-process materials where established grinding parameters may not exist. The machine captures all process-affecting parameters for analysis and optimization, enabling engineers to fine-tune the grinding process through data acquisition. This improves thruput, extends wheel life, and achieves the most efficient setup for each application.
